Scholarship Description
The University of Victoria offers one or more International Entrance Scholarships, each valued at at least CAD $5,000, to academically outstanding international students entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program.
These scholarships are non-repayable and are awarded primarily on the basis of academic excellence.
The University of Victoria (UVic) is a public research university located in Oak Bay and Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1903 as Victoria College, it was initially affiliated with McGill University until 1915, later becoming an affiliate of the University of British Columbia from 1921 to 1963. In 1963, UVic was re-established as an independent university and has since grown into one of Canada’s leading research institutions.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the International Entrance Scholarship, applicants must normally:
- Be an international student
- Be entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at UVic
- Meet UVic’s academic and English language proficiency requirements
- Be a current secondary school student or have graduated within the last two years
- Have not attended any post-secondary institution
- Be admitted to UVic with a competitive admission average
- Hold a valid Canadian study permit
